Studio Ghibli’s special exhibition is coming to Osaka City this winter! If you are a Ghibli fan, don’t miss to visit their Architecture in Animation Exhibition and find architectures appeared on your favourite Ghibli movies!
Studio Ghibli: Architecture in Animation Exhibition (ジブリの立体建造物展) is a special exhibition by Studio Ghibli. The exhibition has been held in several locations in Japan since 2014 and this time it takes a place in the heart of Osaka from 2nd December 2017.
Studio Ghibli: Architecture in Animation Exhibition will be at Abeno Harukas Art Museum, 1F of Abeno Harukas Building, the landmark of Osaka City and the tallest skyscraper in Japan.
The exhibition specially features architectures which have appeared on famous Ghibli movies and displays miniatures, such as Aburaya bathhouse in “Spirited Away”, the Kusakabe family home in “My Neighbor Totoro”, and many more.
In total, 450 work pieces are displayed at the exhibition includes blueprints , sketches of structures and other related items from the long history of Ghibli production from their first movie “Nausicaa” of the Valley of the Wind” to the latest production, “When Marnie Was There”.
Let’s enter the world of Ghibli and feel as if you were in your favourite Ghibli movie! The exhibition runs for about 2 months till the beginning of February 2018, so if you are in Osaka during this period, don’t miss to visit this exclusive exhibition by Ghibli 😉
