The Despicable Me “Minions” themed park is now open at Universal Studios Japan!!!

Don’t you just adore the cheeky little creatures, Minions?? Since the enormous hit of the movie series, Despicable Me 1, 2, 3 and the spin-off movies Minions 1 and 2, the numerous little creatures called Minions which appeared on movies have become sensationally popular all around the world, including Japan. And how exciting to hear the news about the area and attractions themed Minions are now open at Universal Studios Japan!!
Universal Studios Japan (USJ) is located in Osaka Prefecture, and it has been the biggest and the most popular themed park in western Japan since opening in 2001. There are numbers of attractions themed with famous movies including Harry Potter, Spider Man, Jurassic Park, Jaws and adorable characters from Snoopy, Sesame Street, Hello Kitty and so on.
The Minion Park has opened on 21st April 2017 in USJ as the world’s largest Minion area, featuring shows/events, shops with hundreds of Minions’ items and themed restaurant.
The new attraction ride “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” in Minion Park is described as following- “The attraction’s setting is in the heart of supervillain Gru’s home/laboratory. Guests join Gru, his three daughters and the Minions on a heartwarming and hilarious 3-D ride, where they’ll be recruited for his latest scheme — and become an actual Minion. Riders are invited to board a vehicle that has been developed by Gru, then run through his laboratory, fly through the air, and fall head over heels back down to earth.” (source: USJ)
Besides, Minions themselves can be spotted at the park site and special goods and food are sold. Also the park’s official hotel “Universal Port” offers two “Minion Rooms”. Whole rooms are themed with Minions and the hotel’s lobby also has a special decorations.
