Visit the largest lavender park near Tokyo this summer! Over 50,000 pretty lavenders flourish at Tambara Lavender Park 😉
Hokkaido might be best known for astonishing fields of lavender, but actually we can easily access to the beautiful lavender garden from Tokyo!
Tambara Lavender Park (たんばらラベンダーパーク) is the largest lavender park in Kanto region, which can be accessed within 2 hours from Tokyo. It’s located at 1,300 m above sea level in Numata City, Gunma Prefecture. Guests can enjoy beautiful summer flowers with the cool breeze at this highland.
The park is only open through summer when over 50,000 lavenders flourish from early July to end of August (Usually, the best time for viewing is end of July to early August). Along with Lavenders, the park’s huge flower field features over 100 colourful flowers including Sunflowers and Daylilies.
The park also features cafes and restaurants, where you can try delicious local delicacies and the park’s famous “Lavender Soft Ice-cream”. There are also shops selling a variety of Lavender goods.
The park has also playground for kids, and a dog-run area. It’s a perfect spot for couple, family and with pet to spend all day 😉

Admission: 1,200 yen (over junior high school student), 500 yen (primary school students), free for preschool children
