Clinic Nearme has conducted a survey among its customers

Could you tell us about your symptoms?

It will soon be almost two years since the onset of COVID-19. At that time hardly anyone expected that the pandemic would last so long, nor that it would change our way of life. By now, we have become used to hearing the words “PCR test”, “Negative Certificate” and “COVID-19” frequently. It’s being asked for travel, events, start working in a new place, if you have been in contact with a positive person, etc. With the advent of vaccines, it seems that we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and with the advancement of vaccination in their population, some countries are slowly returning to normality. However, there is still a long way to go, since some countries aren’t having access to vaccines yet.

Japan has been one of the most hermetically sealed countries. Now, with the advancement of vaccination and the completion of the Olympic Games, it is slowly beginning to return to normalcy. ●(1) As traveller visiting my family abroad, it was extremely difficult to understand the condition and procedures when returning to Japan (information not translated, not transparent).
(2) As traveller returning to Japan with a 2 years old child, there was a lack of support from hotel staff and no food for baby. Also it is difficult for small age baby to stay in small hotel room for many days.
(3) I got vaccinated twice in country of origin (France) with pfizer but Japan does not recognize vaccine done abroad. Almost 6 months later, there is still no clear plan to recognize vaccine made abroad. In order to get sanitary pass, I may have to be vaccinated again in Japan
●Travel restrictions for coming back in to the country don’t seem well defined
●Limited institutions who shared the information publicly in English.
●Re entry information was way too unclear when I was still living in Japan. I do not know the situation as of today since I moved back to my country.
●I feel there isn’t enough consistent information about vaccination certificates.
●Local clinics where PCR tests can be done. I was able to find this clinic because my friends in Tokyo knew about it, and the information was in English. But in my local area, non Japanese support doesn’t exist.
